Narragansett, Rhode Island

We took our first big vacation with Ms. Ali Paige. Our big group with Nona, Papa, good friends Mandie and AJ with visits from Great Aunt Cheryl....was to Narragansett, Rhode Island. It was such a wonderful week filled with trips to an old carasel, the beach, mini golf and go cart riding. Hailey had such a great time discovering the beach again (not remembering when we took her at 9 months too)....the water was very cold, but she didn't care. She got to build a huge sand castle with AJ then had a blast knocking it down. Ali thought the water was great and wanted to crawl right in....she also thought the sand tasted pretty good too.

Aunt Cheryl took us to a beautiful old Merry Go Round that was built back in the 1800's. I think Hailey rode it 20 times. She had a blast. Ali got to ride with mommy and thought it was pretty fun....again she wasn't happy because she wasn't riding a horse like her sister.

We got to spend a day of shopping at New Port....again Nona and Papa spoiled the girls, but what else are they supposed to do...vacation or not, right! It was a great shopping area right off the shipping ports.

I have additional pictures posted in our gallery, so check them out. It was a great get away and are planning another family trip next year, so that the girls can have some more fun at the beach!

Ali's on the Move Again

She is going to be walking on her own soon! Ali is enjoying climbing on everything these days along with walking from one piece of furniture to another. When you hold her hands she will walk for a little while then it turns into a march....I'm going to be in so much trouble soon. Time is just flying with her. I can't believe she will be a year old in a few months. Look out world....another little one who knows what she wants and isn't going to let anything get in her way....taking after her big sister!

Hailey's Butterflies

One weekend Hailey was staying with Nona and Papa Gehly and saw a commercial about butterfly habitats, which is something that she loves. She is always trying to catch caterpillars so she can watch them change into butterflies. So since the end of May, we have gotten to watch the transformation. It was very interesting and educational for Hailey. Well, on Father's Day it was time to be set free. One took off without a problem and two other decided to hang out for a little while. She is ready for her next set along with a group of frogs!!!! (Thanks, Great Aunt Cheryl for that wonderful idea!)

Baby, Take a Bow

On Sunday the 8th, Hailey participated in her first dance recital....Baby, Take a Bow. She started taking tap in September and has grown in so many ways. Kirt and I are just so proud of how well she really did....we were afraid that she would get nervous once the curtain went up, but she again surprised us with just how much she really remembered. Mommy watched with tears in her eyes and a smile on her heart.

We can hardly believe how time is going by so fast. It will be an amazing journey that we will take with our girls to see what Hailey wants to get into next and to see if Ali will follow Hailey's steps or go a totally different way. Either way, they have our dedicated support and love.

(The other little girl in the picture with Hailey is a good friend from her preschool, Kyle. Couldn't get that little one to smile at all.)

Tupperware Clean Out

Well, now that Hailey is done with school and Ali is climbing, crawling and walking around, on and in everything I have to come up with some creative ways to occupy both girls so that I can at least attempt to do daily things around the house. The Tupperware cabinet is always a safe place to play....well for at least 5 minutes. I can only imagine what I'll have to think of when Ali starts walking and running after Hailey!
